How long does the Start take?
You can work on your idea for 6 months (with the possibility of a two-month interruption).

When can I apply?
The GL Start applications are accepted all year round, because each idea needs a different time to mature. However, if you are thinking about continuing with the GL Accelerator, it is best to register already between spring and summer.

Who can apply?
In fact, anyone. If you have an idea and the necessary dose of desire and strong will, get down to it with us! We have only one condition - you must be from the Moravian-Silesian Region (or your future company will be based in this region).

What type of projects or ideas can apply?
Innovative scalable business ideas or projects with greater than local potential. We carefully evaluate all submitted ideas and select those that we can really help.

Who is Start not intended for?
For business projects and ideas of local importance, such as: hairdressing, beauty services, tailoring, catering services and similar craft projects. Furthermore, it is not intended for the non-profit sector and related activities, financial and other consultancy.

How much will it cost me?
That is quite an important question. The value of the entire program and all related services is CZK 50,000, but participants have the program as such free of charge. However, in case that your project gains a private investment, the GL organizer will be entitled to 2% of the invested amount, up to a maximum of CZK 250,000.

Am I automatically eligible to participate in the GL Accelerator after completing the GL Start?
No, you will have to go through the standard enrolment. However, successful completion of the GL Start greatly increases the chances of admission to the GL Accelerator.

Who is in charge of the program?
The Innovation Support Centre of the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava is the organizer. We implement the GL with the support of the Moravian-Silesian Region and other external partners.
